Sage Chioma has an extensive background in the performing arts, drama, dance, and writing.
She is the author of two plays and the two time recipient of grants from COASI Coalition of
the Arts Staten Island. Ms. Chioma is the author of Earth is a Mother’s ‘Hood a volume of
poems that honor the feminine divine. She has conducted movement workshops with teens in
New York State juvenile detention centers and has taught scene study as a conflict mediation
tool in NYC schools. Ms. Chioma facilitated poetry workshops with Alzheimer’s patients
during Greensboro’s Public Library’s Lifeverse project. Ms. Chioma has a Bachelors degree in
Community and Justice Studies and is certified as a North Carolina substance abuse counselor.
She provides counseling to homeless men, women and veterans at Caring Services Inc. in High
Point. Ms. Chioma’s most recent endeavor is the development of “Reunited Love” a /substance
abuse prevention program that aids in the reunification of families embarking on the path of
